Micah Zevin

My Economy

She could see me staring through
Her window, puffy eyes lamenting
Yet another collapse on the eve
Of a year of coming bells--
I must urge myself to believe that
We will not be left homeless--

Micah Zevin is a librarian in the Queens Public Library system.  He currently lives with his
fiancée, a playwright in Astoria, Queens, New York. He has most recently published book
reviews and online literary magazine reviews for the
New Pages website. His poetry can be
viewed on his blog,
Somars (South of Ditmars): a Literary Blog of Hysterics and Mayhem. In
his experience, poetry is a neverending patchwork quilt that often can tell a narrative with
cinematic pretensions in an encapsulated way.
